Bombay Gym to host Sub-junior badminton

Mumbai, July: The Bombay Gymkhana, which is one of the oldest sporting institutions in the country, has always strived to promote sports and encourage sportspersons, especially the youngsters. In their latest initiative, the Gymkhana will be conducting the Bombay Gymkhana-IndusInd Bank Sub-Junior Badminton Tournament 2019, under the aegis of the Greater Mumbai Badminton Association and to be played at the Bombay Gymkhana badminton courts from August 1 to 4, 2019.

The four-day tournament is open for boys’ and girls’ in three age categories (Under-11, Under-13 & Under-15) and will consists of eight events. There will be singles competition for Boys’ and girls’ in the three age groups and there will also be a doubles event for both boys’ and girls’ in the Under-15 age groups.

Players born on or after January 1, 2009 will be eligible to participate in the under-11 events, while players born on or after January 1, 2007 can take part in the under-13 events and all those born on or after January 1, 2005 will be permitted to play in the under-15 age events.

The last date for submitting entries is Thursday, July 25, 2019 before 6.00 pm. GMBA and MSDBA players have to submit their entries through their respective associations.
