Mumbai, December 10: The solid batting from Nikhil Patil 154 runs (128-balls-128, 12×4, 11×6) and the disciplined bowling by Salman Khan (3/28) and Nipul Panchal (3/40) was the highlights of Bombay Gymkhana’s thumping 239 runs victory against MIG Cricket Club on the second day of their third round Group-C match of the 75th UPL-Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2022-23, played at the Bombay Gymkhana ground, on Sunday.

Nikhil Patil: Nikhil Patil century knock 154 runs guides Bombay Gymkhana to a massive victory against MIG CC in a Group-C match of the 75th UPL-Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2022-23.

In a Group-D match, hosts Mumbai Police Gymkhana suffered a narrow 5-run defeat against Victory Cricket Club at the Police Gymkhana ground. Thanks to a feisty bowling spell from medium pacer Yogesh Patil who claimed 7 for 46 runs Mumbai Police did well to contain Victory CC to 200 all out, 51.2 overs. But, Patil’s efforts went in vain as the Mumbai Police batters were unable to apply themselves in chasing a modest target and bowled out for 195 runs in 53.3 overs. Only Yash Chavan made a fighting unbeaten 80 runs and received good support from Sunil Patil 43 runs. But the remaining batsmen struggled against the bowling of Vijay Gohil who claimed 6 for 83 to secure Victory CC’s close win.
