Wockhardt Hospital celebrates Patient Safety Week

Mumbai: Wockhardt hospitalsa reputed chain of tertiary care super specialty hospitals in India celebrated Patient Safety Week across all its hospitals at Nagpur, Nasik, Vashi (Navi Mumbai), Rajkot, Surat, Wardha, South Mumbai & North Mumbai. The program aimed at reinforcing and strengthening the defined practices to achieve better patient care and safety.

The three-day program focused on a wide range of topics from Accurate & Complete Documentation of Medical Records, Early warning Signs i.e. Rapid Response Team concept, Biomedical waste handling, Infection prevention, and control, Lab & Radiology safety, & fire safety that are important components of a comprehensive patient safety program.

Commenting on the initiative, Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director, Wockhardt Hospitals, said, “Prevention is always better than cure. It is mandatory that healthcare institutions practice basic and best practices and adhere to them for quality care and patient safety. Role plays at work station by identified associates, poster competition on patient safety themes, Quiz sessions, audits, and many more activities were carried out aiming at reinforcing all the policies and practices defined towards ensuring safe patient care.
