The Hans Foundation transforms lives across India

New Delhi, October, 2019; With an attempt to bring a change for millions in India, The Hans Foundation, one of India’s largest charitable organisations, is committed to deliver upon the livelihood needs of the underprivileged community in the country. One of India’s largest social investor has actively supported more than 300 NGO’s in 26 states and union territories in the past ten years benefitting more than 7 million poor in the country, changing the landscape of rural India. Today, The Hans Foundation positions as one of the grant making organisations across the regions, having allocated its funds to sectors across disability, healthcare, education, livelihoods, women empowerment and water & sanitation across India.

The Foundation runs its signature programs directly implemented by the organisation such as Cochlear Implant and Little Hearts for helping children afflicted with hearing loss and congenital heart diseases and giving them a new life. Presently working with close to 150 organisations and partnering with several States’ Governments, the Foundation has supported projects worth over INR 10 billion. Through various programmes like the Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP), with underlying principal being holistic development of villages, integrating elements of health, education, livelihoods, drinking water and sanitation, energy, land & water resource management, and other related aspects of development.

The Cochlear Implant programme, The Foundation has tied up with the country’s hospitals to run this program. Children are operated by some of the leading Cochlear Implant surgeons at Apollo, Columbia Asia and Max City Hospitals. It is one of the largest program of allied health services by any single organization in the country. The programme commenced in 2013 and The foundation has conducted over 650 surgeries so far and is continuing to reach out to the children with hearing impairment.

Little hearts programme providing a new lease of lifein active practise since 2013 for children born with congenital heart ailments. The Hans Foundation joined hands with the leading hospitals in the country like National Heart Institute, Wockhardt Hospital, to regenerate hope for underprivileged children suffering from congenital heart ailments.

Mobile Medical Unit, Programme aims to deliver wide-range of healthcare services to the underprivileged from inaccessible villages who do not have access to basic health amenities. With a fleet of about 50 MMU’s (Mobile Medical Units) succeeded by multiple partners that The Hans Foundation has in different areas that makes a progressive step towards health development.

As we enter our 10th year anniversary, we are prepared to embrace all-encompassing dimensions of our vision with enhancing quality of life for all through empowerment of marginalised and underprivileged communities in India. With our approach to become a nationwide alliance, we engaged into partnerships with the governments as well as with some of the biggest trusts and foundations in the country, says Lt. Gen. S. M.
